What We Do
Best Buddies North Carolina is dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We opened in Charlotte in January 2017! It is our mission to help people with IDD form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self advocacy and communication skills and feel VALUED by society!

- Started in 1989 with one chapter on one college campus, Best Buddies now has 1,300 chapters in middle schools, high schools and college campuses around the US.
- Best Buddies programs are expected to impact the lives of over 400,000 people this year alone worldwide!
- We want to get started making a difference for people with IDD here in Charlotte with 10 new school chapters and awareness of ABILITIES!
