What We Do
We believe that with the right resources and support, anyone can be a successful entrepreneur. The foundation provides free entrepreneurship educational resources, with the goal of helping people take part in the American dream and climb the social and economic ladder. https://brianhamilton.org/ For over 29 years, Brian Hamilton has used his first-hand knowledge and experience as an entrepreneur to assist people with the odds stacked against them to start and grow their own businesses. The foundation builds on decades of entrepreneurial experience to provide aspiring entrepreneurs and growing business owners with the information and inspiration they need to successfully start, run, and grow their businesses. Through our programs, we provide education by speaking to business and entrepreneurship groups, connecting those looking for information with experienced entrepreneurs, and providing free, online courses. Four Focus Areas: Inmates to Entrepreneurs: I2E provides resources to help people with criminal backgrounds start, run, and grow low-capital businesses. We offer 8-week courses, in-prison classes, and national webinars. https://inmatestoentrepreneurs.org/ Starter U: Free online course aimed at teaching the basics of starting, running, and growing a business. It is available to anyone, anywhere. Learn from successful entrepreneurs and move past the fear of failure. https://brianhamilton.org/starter-u/ Youth Initiative: Through our youth initiative and Starter High, we work in schools to plant the seed of entrepreneurship in the minds of students while connecting them to resources needed to succeed. https://starterhigh.brianhamilton.org/ Military Transition Readiness: We believe veterans are natural entrepreneurs. We help ease the transition by providing the targeted programing, skill development, and mentorship needed for them to launch their own businesses.https://brianhamilton.org/military-transition-readiness/ Why We Do What We Do: In America, historically, there have been two ways people have climbed – through education and through running their own businesses. Unfortunately, there are millions of Americans who do not have the benefit of a great education – there are people who still have the odds stacked against them. By providing entrepreneurship for all, we are helping these people start and run their own businesses. Through this, our hope is to generally help people to take part in the American dream and specifically to climb the social and economic ladder. People who have disadvantages might include the formerly incarcerated, minorities, those without a college education, those who have served our country, and others who do not fit neatly into an advantaged socioeconomic category.
