Camp LUCK is the only free camp in the Carolinas exclusively for children with heart disease. It offers year-round support for heart kids and their families through various programs.
Kids Camp is a week-long, medically supervised camp for children with heart disease and one sibling. Held at Camp Cherokee in Kings Mountain State Park, SC, it provides a safe, fun environment where campers build confidence, friendships, and character. Activities include swimming, hiking, canoeing, archery, rock climbing, and more. The goal is for heart kids to enjoy a week as "regular kids" while learning independence, teamwork, and decision-making.
Family Camp is a weekend retreat where families experience Kids Camp activities together, fostering connection and support.
Baby LUCK serves children under 7 with congenital heart disease, providing early childhood development activities and a support network for families.
Teen Leadership Development combines leadership training with a surf retreat in Charleston, SC. Limited to select participants, it builds confidence, teamwork, and community involvement. Teens apply with a personal statement, recommendation, and interview. The program includes team-building, leadership exercises, and environmental activities.
Camp LUCK extends its impact beyond camp, creating a positive, supportive community year-round.
