Seeking Justice through Health and Housing
Programs/Services
- Service areas are mental health, HIV and substance misuse education and prevention, medical case management, LGBTQ+ and gender-affirming services, wrap-around social services, and housing
- Represents and serves LGBTQ+ community members and people living with AIDS in NC and SC
- Services are trauma-informed, harm-reducing and housing-first
- All services are free and available in Spanish and English in drop-in space and via a mobile unit
- The only health and housing justice organization for LGBTQIA+ and HIV+ populations in Mecklenburg County, populations whose access to services is limited
- Uses a very strong partnerships model, leveraging government, private sector, community assets like city housing vouchers and SAMHSA partnership
- Provides social services including linkage to behavioral health, vaccinations, testing, substance misuse resources and more
- Case management action plans measure goals reached and changes in life status such as housing, jobs, transportation, and enrollment in disability, SNAP and other social benefits
Distribute the most dedicated housing vouchers in their role as the federal HOPWA administrator for Mecklenburg County
