What We Do

CHOC Project One strives to reduce the extreme challenges that homeless families face when providing lifelong care for loved ones with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We provide resources for essential daily needs food and clothes, education. We support our "Champions" to accomplish life and vocational skills, connect with peers, and get involved in their community. Our team is dedicated to providing quality care through choice programs that are person-centered and ability driven. Champion House of Care offers three main programs throughout the year. Our CHOC Enrichment program provides those who have transitioned out of high school a place to continue developing the skills they need to be successful in the community. For those who are still in school and need care in a safe and fun environment, we offer families an affordable option with our After School Program and short sessions which run during spring/winter breaks. In the summer, both can enjoy Camp Champion! At Camp Champion we experience all the fun of summer with swimming, games, and sports. But, we also enjoy our community through exciting day trips. We will explore nature, performing and visual arts, museums and cultural interests sites throughout Charlotte and the surrounding area ~ all included in the program.
