What We Do
IMPACT OF COVID-19 - SPECIFIC HELP:
On a normal day, we are a tool lending program... In times of disaster, we a response organization who helps those on the front lines. The Charlotte Community ToolBank will happily provide tables, chairs, tents, and other equipment FREE OF CHARGE to those responding and directly supporting the COVID-19 pandemic. If your organization is providing free lunches, sorting food for families practicing self-isolation, staging pop-up testing sites, etc., and has a need for our equipment, please call us at 704.469.5800. We are here to help!
When we return to regularly scheduled programing, we are a nonprofit tool lending program that provides charitable organizations with year-round access to an inventory of tools. Access to ToolBank tools eliminates the need for agencies to incur the expense of purchasing, repairing, and storing tools. This reduces the costs associated with service projects and allowing these agencies to focus more of their resources on their mission.
Our tools are used for volunteer projects as well as facility and grounds maintenance. We provide tools to enhance the charitable sector’s capacity to serve, facilitating hands-on volunteerism in the greater Charlotte area.
We are more than tools... we also provide special event equipment! Having fund/friendraiser, celebrating the working of volunteers & staff through a party or providing a place for clients to gather for a movie night can be cost prohibitive. The ToolBank makes it possible for all these events to happen. We provide tents, tables, chairs, games, projectors, and more at pennies on the dollar for seven days of use.
The Charlotte ToolBank maintains an 8,000 sq ft warehouse in South End and an inventory comprised of more than 285 different types of tools and equipment in volumes large enough to equip thousands of volunteers at a time.
