What We Do
IMPACT OF COVID-19 - SPECIFIC RESPONSE AND NEEDS:
The ToolBank is here to support the community. Our tools and equipment are available to all organizations providing critical services during this crisis. Whether it is first responders who are using pop-up testing sites or organizations issuing food and supplies to families practicing self-isolation. If there are organizations supporting this work and need our equipment, we are here for them. Spread the word and have organizations call us at 704-469-5800 or go to www.charlotte.toolbank.org to become a member.
To help, please donate monetarily or purchase needed items from our Amazon wishlist.
When we return to regularly scheduled programing, we are a nonprofit tool lending program that provides charitable organizations with year-round access to an inventory of tools. Access to ToolBank tools eliminates the need for agencies to incur the expense of purchasing, repairing, and storing tools. This reduces the costs associated with service projects and allowing these agencies to focus more of their resources on their mission.
Our tools are used for volunteer projects as well as facility and grounds maintenance. We provide tools to enhance the charitable sector’s capacity to serve, facilitating hands-on volunteerism in the greater Charlotte area.
We are more than tools... we also provide special event equipment! Having fund/friendraiser, celebrating the working of volunteers & staff through a party or providing a place for clients to gather for a movie night can be cost prohibitive. The ToolBank makes it possible for all these events to happen. We provide tents, tables, chairs, games, projectors, and more at pennies on the dollar for seven days of use.
The Charlotte ToolBank maintains an 8,000 sq ft warehouse in South End and an inventory comprised of more than 285 different types of tools and equipment in volumes large enough to equip thousands of volunteers at a time.
