At Charlotte Trans Health, we believe it’s our responsibility as healthcare professionals to make gender-affirming care accessible for one of our community’s most marginalized populations- transgender and gender diverse individuals, so they can be healthy and live as their full, authentic selves.
Charlotte Trans Health is a collective of multidisciplinary healthcare providers committed to gender affirming care through education, community outreach, consultation, and provision of services to the community. Through collaboration, peer education, and consultation, our members strive to increase access to care through enhanced trans-specialized clinical competency of individual healthcare providers and larger systems of care. Education on gender affirming care ranges from limited to non-existent in most clinical programs, thus our providers fill this gap to increase resources and reduce disparities in the Charlotte area.
Our Providing Access to Trans Healthcare (PATH) Program also provides free case management, mental health services, and medical care for uninsured and underinsured transgender and gender diverse individuals.
Finally, our providers and our website provide a valuable resource to increase access to competent, LGBTQIA+ affirming healthcare in Mecklenburg and surrounding counties.
- The PATH Program launched in July 2023 and has enrolled over 300 participants as of June 2025.
- Our goal is to create free and affordable access to knowledgeable, safe, affirming care for trans and gender diverse people through our Access to Care program
- LGBTQ youth who report having at least one accepting adult were 40% less likely to report a suicide attempt in the past year.
