What We Do

Compassion for Others (dba: CFO Ministries) mission is to help those in need and facing disadvantages.  Our mission and purpose are to show kindness as we seek to make a difference.  We are a human services 501(c)3 nonprofit and we are also faith based.  Everyone serving with the CFO organization does so on a volunteer basis. We hold that it is our first responsibility to love God, and then, to show our love to others, especially those in need. Through financial support CFO Ministries receives, we provide essentials we all use and need, such as food and clothing.  CFO serves to uplift, to provide encouragement and share hope with others, especially those facing difficulties and disadvantages in life. Through the years we have served in numerous ways.  Some of those ways are listed here. CFO has paid utility bills and provided wood for heating; provided new clothes and school backpacks to children returning to school; reached out with essentials to families harmed by the flooding of Hurricane Matthew in Lumberton, NC; given provisions of food and essential needs  to the homeless; served military veterans; helped families and single parents who struggle to care for their family; helped those experiencing the loss of a loved one due to gun violence; we have loved on those living in an Alzheimer's residential care settings. CFO Ministries has hosted events providing essential needs for more than twenty-five families in a community setting.

  • In 2019, CFO served as part of a church mission team helping families in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
  • In March, 2022, CFO Ministries began efforts to help refugees, orphans and those displaced from their homes due to the war in Ukraine through Compassion4Ukraine.  CFO has provided this help through vetted boots-on-the-ground church organizations in Ukraine, Poland and Romania.
  • In September, 2024 CFO began serving needs in WNC of those harmed by Hurricane Helene. CFO has provided baby formula, baby diapers, cleaning items, space heaters and a generator.  CFO assisted a local church in Lake Lure, NC with their purchase of a new 7X16 utility trailer, that is now equipped and providing disaster recovery. With financial support efforts by CFO Ministries in WNC will continue.
