CrownCARES: Impacting a generation!

CrownCARES is the outreach arm of Carolina Crown Inc., a nonprofit youth organization formed in 1988. Carolina Crown (Crown) is an internationally-acclaimed performance ensemble consisting of 165 cast members. Crown competes on the Drum Corps International annual summer tour and has been one of the elite units over the past 15 years. CrownCARES was started in 2015 and has already served shoes, socks, books and a message of hope to over 10,000 children.

Rhythm&ReadingTM, developed under CrownCARES in 2018, is an engaging, interactive children’s program where kids learn basics of literacy education in a fun environment of movement, drumming and other rhythmic activities. It has been proven that rhythms play a fundamental role in the development of reading skills.

Our live events combine buckets, drums, and high-energy facilitators to engage children in this important reading program. Children are entertained while learning and will walk away with backpacks, books and school supplies to keep them engaged in the literary process. Our Charlotte event will provide these free items to the first 500 children.
