What We Do
Our mission is to ensure that every student has affordable and essential at-home technology and the training support to achieve academic success. Our ultimate goal is to see students in our community on a path of upward mobility through technology access, digital education training and by providing exposure to workforce development opportunities in the technology industry through our Re-Image CLT initiative.
IMPACT OF COVID-19 - SPECIFIC NEEDS:
We have had to close all of our Re-Image CLT labs on CMS campuses. We are currently refurbishing laptops at our Headquarters Lab in Cornelius with a skeleton crew of employees. Our productivity will be down due to this, yet, the need for at-home technology is huge during this time of crisis. We are hoping to open a temporary lab space in a central location so that it's easy for our lab techs from all over the county to get to. This workspace would allow for maximum distance between our workers to ensure their safety while providing this much needed service for the county.
Financial Donations Requested:
Our most immediate need is for hardware for our laptops, mostly cords and hard drives. We are appreciative of any donations to help with this cause.
Also, we are always encouraging corporations to consider us for donations of laptops, and now is no different. If anything, now is the time for any company who is not giving back to their community in this way to consider this important endeavor. Technology is a must in today's world. The effects of coronavirus on our lives is proving that the digital divide is hugely prevalent and must be eradicated in order for families to be able to come out of this isolation strong.
We have cancelled our upcoming events due to the coronavirus outbreak and so, don't have a need for on-site volunteers at this time. We are always interested in anyone who is willing to help us with grant research and grant writing.
