What We Do
Gladys Love Project (GLP)'s mission is to remind seniors and caregivers they are seen, beautiful and loved. We fulfill our mission by engaging seniors and caregivers in mindful, creative events to improve their mental health and well-being to help counter senior isolation and caregiver burden.
- Caregiver Teas are hosted in Charlotte to offer local caregivers a much needed break and community.
- Love Kits (think "party in a box") are sent to senior communities nationally to celebrate senior residents and the care staff.
Each Love Kit includes:- Love Notes, or postcards decorated by volunteers for senior residents;
- "You are wonderful" lapel pins for staff members;
- An activity for seniors to share what they love (food, favorite color, music, etc.) to personalize their experience with the staff and visitors; and
- A Spotify playlist to enjoy during the activity.
- Capture the Love includes taking portraits of seniors and caregivers to make them feel seen and loved and to preserve their legacies. We also offer wooden frames for a decorating activity, along with an additional print for families.
