What We Do
Healing Vine Harbor (HVH) is an independent living skills program for homeless or displaced young women (ages 18+) who lack the necessary skills to be self-sufficient. Because they lack the preparation or resources for the future, they end up in shelters, jail, or bounced around from place to place. Our mission is to reduce the number of single women living in shelters, living on the street or living in unsafe situations in Mecklenburg County. We believe in transforming lives, one woman at a time. We saw this need so began to provide free monthly workshops that include but are not limited to self-esteem, financial literacy, employability skills such as resume writing and interviewing skills, nutrition, healthy relationships, etiquette, shopping and couponing, cooking, etc. We also provide individual mentoring and cultural enrichment.
