The mission of Healing Vine Harbor is to reduce the number of single women living in shelters or unsafe situations, providing a pathway out of poverty to ensure self-sufficiency. We transform lives one woman at a time through independent living skills such as financial literacy, educational preparation, employability readiness, mentoring and much more. Healing Vine Harbor (HVH) is a program for homeless or displaced young women (ages 18+) including girls that age out of foster care, who lack the necessary skills to be self-reliant. Because they lack the preparation or resources for the future, they end up in shelters, jail, or bounced around from place to place. We are here to help transform lives one woman at a time by empowering them through education, & life skills training. Through our T.E.A.C.H. (Transforming, Empowering And Creating Hope) program, we provide free monthly lunch and learn workshops that include but are not limited to self-esteem, resume writing and interviewing skills, nutrition, healthy relationships, etiquette, shopping and couponing, cooking, etc. We also provide individual mentoring and cultural enrichment. IMPACT OF COVID-19 SPECIAL NEEDS: We continue to need support for our homeless women. Please view our "wish list" on Amazon for additional items needed. We are also in need of monetary donations as well as volunteers to help us with grant writing. Because of the pandemic we are not receiving as many personal donations, therefore we are looking for other avenues, such as grants, to help us continue to provide services to our homeless ladies.
- The City of Charlotte has proclaimed April 1st as Healing Vine Harbor Day! Wells Fargo’s Duke Energy Center lights its building purple in our honor.
- We provide "Healing Bags", a shopping experience via our "Healing Closet" for 300+ women annually & provide emergency financial help to keep them self-reliant.
- Our ultimate goal is to open a Healing Vine Harbor Village to house, train, develop and prepare single homeless women to be independent citizens of society.
