Heart Math Tutoring recruits and supports volunteers as one-on-one tutors in Charlotte elementary schools during the school day, prioritizing economically-disadvantaged students who may lack resources to access private tutoring. Heart has developed a fun, hands-on, CMS approved curriculum that helps fill in the conceptual gaps of students who are below grade level in math. With a commitment of 30 minutes or one hour per week, many of Heart's volunteers tutor before work or during lunchtime. Volunteers have an impactful presence in Heart's partner schools, serving ~50 students in grades 1 - 5 per school. Sign up to be a tutor in the 2025/26 school year here!
