What We Do
The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, to developing the potential of women and to improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The Junior League of Charlotte, Inc. (JLC) commits financial and volunteer resources to community agencies and projects that focus on the most critical needs of the Charlotte community. Since June 1, 2018, the JLC has partnered with our community to ensure that all children are school ready by focusing on health and educational needs of children from birth to fifth grade in priority areas of Mecklenburg County.
- JLC has provided more than 1.6 million hours of volunteer service and over $13.7 million dollars to the Charlotte community.
- JLC was founded in 1926 by 30 women, and in 2020 there are over 1600 members
- JLC played a role in the development of organizations such as CLT Speech & Hearing Clinic, The Children's Theatre of CLT, and CLT Nature Museum
