La Escuelita San Marcos (LESM) has served the Spanish-speaking children of North Mecklenburg and their families for the past 9 years. LESM is the only bilingual parent collaborative preschool in North Mecklenburg. Primary services include a STEAM (STEM +Arts) curriculum for ages 2-5 and the Mama Maestra program, which empowers families inside the classroom as teachers and volunteers. The school also teaches a phonics literacy program as well as a handwriting program. By design, tuition is kept significantly lower than operating costs to make the program affordable for families.
