What We Do
The mission of Levine Museum of the New South is to connect the past to the future to realize the promises of a New South. Understanding our shared history helps us understand our world today, fosters empathy for others, and informs the decisions we make for the future. For nearly thirty years, Levine Museum has used history to build a stronger, more equitable community through exhibits, programs, and celebrations that tell everyone’s story for students and educators, families, Charlotte residents, and tourists.
IMPACT OF COVID-19 - SPECIFIC NEEDS:
After closing our doors for COVID-19, Museum staff worked fast to transition the Museum's programs, curriculum, and events to become available online. The staff also began working on digital programs that would continue bringing people together even while in isolation. Despite the cancellation of our annual CataLysT fundraiser, the Museum is working to have other events, such as #ShapingCLT, available through online digital platform.
We have various virtual volunteer opportunities that will help us as we have transitioned our programs to an online platform, check them out below!
