What We Do
The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter is part of a national force devoted to solving the cruel mystery of lupus while providing caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact. We are dedicated to improving the quality of life for all people affected by lupus through programs of research, education, and advocacy. The LFANC is the only statewide lupus organization in North Carolina.
Interesting Info
In the United States alone it is believed that at least 1.5 million people -- women, men, teens, and children -- have lupus.
Lupus strikes mostly women of childbearing age (15-44). However, men, children and teenagers develop lupus, too.
More than 16,000 new cases are reported across the country each year.
