Operation HOPE is the leading global provider of financial dignity education and economic empowerment programs for low-to-moderate income youth, individuals and families in underserved communities. Project 5117 is HOPE’s four-pronged approach to combating economic inequality. The programs under Project 5117 improve financial literacy, increase the ratio of business role models and business internships, reach America’s un-and underbanked citizens, strengthen small businesses and create new entrepreneurs. The end goal is the creation of economically stabilized communities. Bank of America with Operation HOPE to deliver financial literacy workshops in our communities through the HOPE Inside. Operation HOPE and HOPE Coalition America offer a variety of Disaster Financial Recovery services post disaster. Among them are the creation of a Disaster Recovery Budget. Assistance obtaining copies of lost or destroyed documents. Through workshops and one-on-one counseling, our financial wellbeing coaches empower clients to take control of their finances, by creating a budget, reducing and paying off debt, and clearing errors from their credit reports. Seventy-two percent of clients see a FICO score increase; 25 percent achieve a 700+ FICO score after six months of participation. As part of this program, you receive individual coaching sessions and workshops on credit and money management at no cost.
