Our Daily Bread Foundation empowers Black and Brown boys ages 13–15 in Charlotte through a transformative, three-pillar approach: Trauma Wellness, Social Integration, and Entrepreneurship.
We create safe, healing-centered spaces where youth explore their identity, gain essential life and business skills, and build meaningful relationships with mentors and peers. Our programs blend culinary arts, financial literacy, and mentorship to help young people grow in confidence, purpose, and community connection.
In our flagship program, It’s All About the Dough, youth learn to bake with purpose, budget wisely, and explore business ownership under the guidance of certified chefs who also serve as mentors and role models.
Participants gain access to real-world opportunities—including savings accounts, guest chefs and speakers, and occasional stipends or incentives that reward engagement and growth.
Our upcoming Mobile Bakery will serve as both a traveling classroom and a launchpad for entrepreneurship—bringing opportunity, healthy food, and inspiration directly into Charlotte neighborhoods.
At the heart of our mission is a belief: when young people are seen, supported, and equipped, they rise. We’re building futures that are whole, hopeful, and rooted in community.
- We have supported over 1000 youth and families in underserved communities to bridge the gaps between exclusivity to inclusivity and from welfare to well-fare.
- Through our "Grow Your Own Garden" project we distributed 300 salad kits to families in desert communities.
- In the next 3 years our goal is to graduate 500 entrepreneurs/bakers resulting in productive citizens, a reduction in recidivism, suicide and crime.
