The Prodigal Son Foundation (PSF) is committed to strengthening communities and developing productive leaders for the future by empowering, educating and engaging students and families. Our Leadership Academy is a program that focuses on positive mentor/role model; attempts to put his best foot forward at being the best that he can be; and/or exhibits a positive/helpful attitude in and outside the classroom. However, the ultimate goal of the program is to positive activities; providing high-quality information at appropriate points to ensure that male students are able to make informed decisions in and out of school; increasing aspirations to do well academically and become a contributing citizen in a changing world.
In addition, we offer the "I Dream in Color" Award. Our Learning Center programs that provide students with free Out of School and Summer academic enrichment social and academic skills in an effort to promote leadership and academic excellence by: building confidence, motivation, and self-management skills among students through enrichment opportunities along with activities designed to complement the students’ regular academic program through the entire year. The Learning Center offers families of participating students educational development opportunities.
The center provides a range of high-quality services to support student learning and development. Our Physical Activity Community Education (P.A.C.E.) program focuses on promoting and supporting physical activities and healthy living in the community. There are three parts to the P.A.C.E. program: (1) providing opportunities for students to be active, (2) fitness training and activities, and (3) providing nutrition education. The structure of each program is to provide primary prevention and intervention efforts to facilitate positive growth and development for students.
Today the Prodigal Son Foundation Impacts: ● Nearly 100 low income students daily; ● More than 150 adult families yearly ; ● And engage over 200 volunteers, tutors, and mentors in the movement to eliminate educational inequity.
