What We Do
We facilitate programs and intercultural relationships that help promote refugee self-sufficiency and enrich our community. Through our Fruitful Friends program, we connect the refugee community with families in Charlotte to build lasting and transformative relationships that enrich the lives of all parties involved. We host self-sufficiency workshops like Financial Literacy, Home-Buying & Credit-Building, Family Literacy, Family First-Aid, and Nutrition & Cooking to help refugees to thrive in our community. Our walk-up Help Center provides a place for clients to get assistance with understanding bills and payment options, making phone calls to resolve issues, communicating with schools, and more. Our center is also home to our Love & Learn Preschool program and hosts a weekly produce distribution, women's knitting group, and special events. We also educate the Charlotte community about refugees and the refugee population in our city through our free Refugee 101 classes. Please visit our website to complete a volunteer application and register for Refugee 101 to get started as a volunteer!
