What We Do

Smart Start of Mecklenburg County has the sole mission of ensuring that every child in our county enters kindergarten healthy and ready to learn. One of our programs, MECK Pre-K is high-quality pre-kindergarten available to qualified children. Check eligibility and apply here: https://meckprek.org/

IMPACT OF COVID-19 - SPECIFIC NEEDS:

While Smart Start of Mecklenburg County is not directly impacted by current events, childcare centers we support are. Our Child Care Provider COVID-19 Relief Fund has been created to help Charlotte’s child care community affected by the Coronavirus pandemic. These funds will provide childcare centers the resources to purchase supplies needed to either re-open or remain open, allowing essential workers to keep working.
