Team Trublue has a mentorship program that serves adolescents and youth in underserved communities. The program is aligned to provide a meaningful connection with a mentor that can assist the school and the community with behavioral and academic issues. The issues can be generated from environmental factors, economic status, lack of resources, or dysfunction in the family dynamics. Our organization works with the school systems, administrators, the Department of Juvenile Justice, the Department of Social Services, and other agencies that have identified adolescents or youth in the marginalized communities that we serve. We tutor young people in their academic studies, identify what is causing their grades to fall below grade level, and show them better studying habits. We provide an individualized plan, and they set goals to accomplish. Our team assists adolescents and youth in creating a plan to meet personal and professional goals.
We provide leadership development skills to teach them how to be positive leaders in school and their community. We allow them to use their platform to be heard and feel involved. Our Mentorship Program also provides workshops on peer pressure, bullying, conflict resolution, and gang violence. Team Trublue wants to give them the same access to resources and build a positive future despite systemic and societal barriers.
