What We Do
UMAR is on a mission to promote community inclusion, independence and growth for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through residential, employment and cultural enrichment opportunities. UMAR operated 19 group homes and independent-living 9 apartments in 11 cities across western North Carolina, and three art centers (Charlotte, Lincolnton, and Reidsville) which provide therapeutic day programming that incorporate visual arts, dance, yoga, gardening and more.
