What We Do
The mission of the Urban League of Central Carolinas (ULCC) is to equip African Americans and all underserved communities with tools to achieve social and economic equality. Through the CareerBridge program, ULCC offers skilled trades training that can lead to national certifications that include: HVAC, Medical Billing, and SAP. All program participants receive life/soft skills and financial literacy resources. Today, the ULCC equips students and clients with the core skills needed for high-demand careers that are proven to sustain upward mobility. Through generous, committed community members, and leaders The Urban League is committed to providing students and clients with real-world training opportunities that prepare them to excel in their preferred career paths. Our Working woman, Thriving families, and Better Communities (WTB) Initiative is our strategic response to address pay equity, access to resources, and opportunity for training and development to meet the social and economic mobility growth for women in Mecklenburg County. The Solution. Place women in livable wage careers that affords and equips them with the opportunity and access to human and social capital in areas of need for transformational outcomes.
