American Cancer Society

This dedicated group of young professional volunteers are instrumental in promoting the American Cancer Society’s Taste of Hope Charlotte gala in 2024, by engaging their peers, community, and corporate partners in supporting and representing our annual Charlotte culinary event. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leverage your personal and professional networks to support the gala by engaging in one of the following roles:

• Auction Committee: Secure a diverse array of auction items, to help achieve our supporters event goal of $70,000 through Brewery tasting/tours, charlotte sporting events, donated merchandise, sports memorabilia, and family-friendly experiences.
• Entertainment Committee: 
  • Research/identify locations for in-person monthly meetings.
  • Research/identify the live entertainment for best value for gala attendees for dancing.
  • Create stand-alone YP gala kick-off event for 2025.
• Sponsorship: Solicit corporate event sponsorship through a ‘give or get’ of at least $1,000 to achieve an overall goal of $405,000 in corporate funds and grow relationships between the American Cancer Society and corporate/community partners.
• Mission: Identify individual donors for 100% tax-deductible gifts pre-event for the mission and make a personal contribution during the paddle raise night of the gala.
• Social Media and/or Publicity: Work on overall communication and branding strategy through own network and social media channels by reposting or creating original content, etc.
• Ticket Sales: Develop and promote the event and increase table sales.

Member Expectations:

• Regular communication with American Cancer Society Staff and fellow YP board members to ensure continued progress toward goals by participating in monthly socials/meetings as scheduled, approx. one hour per month.
