Machiah’s House, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization with a mission to improve the lives of young women who have aged out of foster care through an innovative partnership of community resources that enhance their safety and quality of life.
Do you enjoy volunteering your time, gifts and talents and have experience serving on an active, hands-on Board of Directors and know how to roll up your sleeves and get things accomplished? Machiah's House is looking for serious and committed board members who will be advocates and influencers for our cause; serving young women aged-out of foster care and transitioning into adulthood.
We are seeking volunteers who are passionate and want to serve our young women in providing tactical support through strategic and fundraising ideas. We are pursuing thoughtful, strategic thinkers and diplomatic "doers" who want to make a difference in the lives of our precious young women aged-out of foster care.
All board members are asked to donate at their level of comfort and participate in some of our events. As our grantors and sponsors want to know that our Board of Directors are "all in".
We desire board members with skill sets in social media, event planning, grant research and writing, marketing and accounting.

Our board meets on a monthly basis, in Charlotte, NC. Zoom option is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead development initiatives to expand our outreach and increase funding opportunities.
- Secure financial contributions from individuals, foundations, and corporations to support Machiah's House programs and objectives.
- Develop and nurture long-term relationships with major donors, ensuring their ongoing engagement and support.
- Create and execute a comprehensive strategy to establish a substantial and sustained base of annual individual donors.
- Collaborate with team members to organize fundraising events and campaigns.
- Represent Machiah's House at community events and in various forums to enhance the organization’s visibility and expand our network.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proven experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and leadership.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for the mission of Machiah's House success and a commitment to supporting our residents.
- The position offers flexible working hours, with the number of hours dependent on the applicant’s availability.
