As Brave Step approaches its 8th year of empowering those impacted by sexual violence, we are seeking passionate volunteers for a new volunteer committee that will focus on growing and cultivating a strong volunteer network.
Members of the volunteer committee will have a passion and loyalty for our cause and be excited and passionate advocates willing to roll up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to help Brave Step grow.
Volunteer Committee Objectives
- Volunteer recruitment
- Develop new volunteer relationships and maintain such relationships
- Match volunteers with volunteer opportunities based on their interests and skillsets
- Manage and engage volunteers for various opportunities
- Ensure proper reporting of volunteer hours and activities
- Track the impact from volunteer activities and events
The committee meeting schedule will be decided by the committee members at the first meeting.
Estimated time commitment: 5 hours each month for one year.
Volunteer Committee Member Responsibilities
- Further the mission of Brave Step
- Actively engage in the committee work and lead and volunteer as needed
- Seek ways to strengthen Brave Step by maximizing volunteers’ skillset
- Suggest recommendations to ensure Brave Step is utilizing best practices
- Serve as a positive advocate for Brave Step within the community
- Assist Brave Step in gaining and maintaining community support by leveraging personal and professional contacts whenever possible
- Prepare for each committee meeting by reading material distributed prior to each meeting and completing any assigned tasks
- Maintain knowledge of Brave Step’s current programs
Although no monetary compensation is available for being a member of the volunteer committee, Brave Step values and appreciates the time of each of our volunteers and strongly encourages efficient meeting practices that maximize time commitments.
