Volunteer Opportunity:
ESL Class Teacher
I'm Interested!

We are looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting our growing English as a Second Language program by teaching group ESL classes.

Classes are taught twice a week (Mon/Wed or Tues/Thurs) for 8-week sessions. Morning classes take place from 9:30-11:30 AM and evening classes are from 6-8 PM. Currently, we have classes taking place at our office location (1611 E. 7th Street) and at the Ada Jenkins Center.  Ideally, we'd like to find volunteers who can teach 2x a week, but if you're only available for one day we can try to find a co-teacher to work with you on the other day.

Volunteers will need to pass a background check through Sterling Volunteer and complete some additional training and onboarding requirements with our education team. New teachers will also be required to shadow a current class before being assigned a class to teach. We also provide a curriculum and resources for you to use.

Note: we also need teaching assistants and substitute teachers if you're not ready to commit to a full 8-week session.
