• Hugaroo, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) since 2007
• Mission is to Provide new stuffed animals to children who have experienced a life-threatening illness, traumatic event or are at risk.
• Located in North Carolina (Charlotte & Triangle Metroplex), South Carolina (Lowcountry), West Virginia, Colorado and Georgia.
• On behalf of our donors, we have delivered over 100,000 new stuffed animals/hugs since inception.  We expect to deliver over 35,000 again in 2024.  We are growing!

Board Requirements

1. Attend quarterly board meetings (March, June, September, December)
2. The Hugaroo board is a working board.
3. Currently the Board of Directors absorb administrative expenses 
4. Funds raised goes to the purchase, preparation of stuffed animals and delivery of the new stuffed animal program
5. Provide time, talent and treasure (Examples)
   1. Time
      1. Provide an overarching / high level strategic view to support the CEO/CFO, Communications, Procurement, Financial review, Regional Directors. etc.  In all cases it is helpful/productive to/for those managing the business
      2. Tagging / bagging / delivery of new stuffed animals (hugs)
      3. Picking up new stuffed animals from various donors
      4. As a regional director, manage your market’s needs for new stuffed animals within budget limitations, search for various forms of funding within your market, attend monthly regional director’s meeting, share best practices, submit regional monthly updates. 
      5. In all cases celebrate success.
   2. Talent
      1. Networking / Funding raising (grants, individuals, businesses, in-kind….)
   3. Treasure
      1. Invest in Hugaroo by personal donation ($s or stuffed animals and/or bring in funds, services, etc.)  In order to ask for donations, the board must be 100% invested (gift amount is up to board member).  Strongly recommend at least $5 per month recurring donation.
