She Dreams In Color Foundation

She Dreams In Color Foundation is seeking  up to four people to serve on the Board of Directors to support specific gaps in our Board's skillsets. While our mental health funding supports marginalized women in Charlotte, our outreach to destigmatize mental health needs and seeking care applies to everyone.

We are seeking skills, life experiences, and knowledge basis that are not yet represented by a member of our Board of Directors so that our leadership is the most robust representation possible.

Formed in 2022, we are a grassroots board that is still raising our seed money funds for programs. We have made great strides in outlining systems and operations but are still outlining some policies as our capacity expands. Currently, board members serve three year terms.

Current Board requirements include: 

• $1,000 give/get annually
• Monthly 1-hr board meetings (90% virtual)
• Annual Board Meeting attendance 2-hrs
• Committee participation
• Good faith event participation- we have one signature event with a second potential in 2025 
• Willingness to speak publicly/online on our behalf
• Social Media engagement as accessible

Skills we would benefit from adding to our current board:

• Capacity to volunteer and supplement work of our part-time Executive Director
• Corporate donation & sponsorship experience
• Grant writing experience
• Marketing experience
• Early stage nonprofit experience
• Program allocation/grantee application review process experience
• Wix web design experience

We will provide statistics, talking points, and training so you're confident being an ambassador for She Dreams In Color Foundation. Currently, our board is 50/50 previous board experience and first-time board experience.
