Charlotte Family Housing

Volunteer Opportunity:
Welcome Basket Collection and Assembly
I'm Interested!

When a working family experiencing homelessness begins our program in our shelter phase, they are given a "Welcome Basket" full of new linens, fresh bedding and towels, and other household items. The family then takes these items when they move into their own housing. We expect to serve at least 120 new families each year in our shelter phase, so "Welcome Basket" items are always in high demand. This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity. Welcome Basket Collection and Assembly is an excellent opportunity for groups. Volunteers can collect and assemble baskets filled with fresh linens to help give families a fresh start when entering the shelter and create a welcome environment. Please drop the assembled items off at our primary shelter, Plaza Place, during business hours, Monday-Friday. This is an off-site opportunity and supplies need to be provided by you and your group.
