Volunteers in our McCrorey YMCA Afterschool program will be helping with our Queen City Readers program. Queen City Readers is a program that is designed to help Kindergarten and First Grade students learn important skills that will help them become strong readers. In just one hour a week, tutors can serve two students. The only requirements to become a tutor are:
Proficiency in English (speaking and reading)
A high school education
A positive and encouraging attitude
15 minutes of pre-recorded video training & a 30 Minute Child Abuse Prevention training online
