Our healthcare outcomes should not be determined by where we live and that is one of the key messages within Health Equity conversations. Every individual, regardless of their location, should have fair and equal access to the resources and care needed to live a healthy life.
In terms of proximity, access to quality healthcare is not an issue for people living in or near Charlotte. Our city is home to two major healthcare systems, world-class cancer institutes, and one of the leading pediatric hospitals in the Southeast.

This month, we’re raising awareness about a critical issue facing Charlotte - the need for affordable housing. Charlotte has seen significant challenges related to affordable housing in recent years, including the fact that the median cost of rent rose 30% between 2015-2020, significantly outpacing income growth.
