What We Do

Catawba Riverkeeper is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and restoring the 8,900 sq. miles of waterways within the Catawba-Wateree River Basin. We accomplish this mission by offering on-the-water experiences, hosting public and private trash cleanups, creating youth and adult educational programs, and conducting valuable research concerning water health. We also have staff members on alert for any environmental issues that come up in the lawmaking process at the local, state, and national levels.

Our accomplishments would not be possible without our countless volunteers, participants, and ambassadors who donate their time to our programs and events every month.

Interesting Info
  • The Catawba-Wateree River flows through 26 counties across the Carolinas!
