We radically empower Latina girls by supporting their transformation through extensive mentoring, holistic programming and scholarship funds for further education. Each year we select a new class of 6 to 8 Latina girls in the seventh grade and then support them through high school graduation. During those six years, we provide our girls and their families with wraparound services and dynamic program experiences inspired by the three core themes of our developmental model: Academic Support and College Readiness, Personal Development, and Community Awareness & Engagement. Our goal is to empower our girls to be more confident and resilient while realizing that they can create futures of their choosing. In addition, we guarantee each girl a minimum of $5,000 scholarship when she graduates from high school and pursues further education. What we know to be true is that when women are empowered, whole communities change. If we want the world to be healthy and whole, we have to invest in Latina women. Yet, just one cent out of every dollar a foundation grants in North Carolina goes to Latine issues. If we are going to make a change, it has to come down to people like you and me deciding that everyone deserves to be invested in.
