What We Do

We enable individuals and families to obtain and sustain safe, decent and affordable housing. We serve our customers from homeless to homeownership, every step of the way.

In our Homeless to Housing program, we help homeless individuals and families secure affordable places to live. We also help customers address the issues that led to homelessness.

In our Asset Building program, low-to-moderate income households can avoid foreclosure, grow savings, or buy a first home. Our financial empowerment workshops include budgeting, saving, and understanding credit to improve participants' financial independence.

IMPACT OF COVID-19 - SPECIFIC NEEDS:

Community Link is serving our customers by phone and video chat in 16 North Carolina counties. We are focused on helping housed customers get enough to eat. Many are single mothers, with children home full-time now because of school closures.

We use federal grant money and donations from individuals to place online orders for groceries in locations where that service is available. We arrange for those orders to picked up at stores or delivered to customers' homes. This is a lifeline for families who typically depend upon meals at schools to get their children fed.

Other customers live in food deserts. Still others are elderly or living with a disability. We want to ensure none are hungry.

We are serving homeless customers by identifying housing for them and conducting virtual inspections to ensure properties are safe. This need has taken on added urgency as we seek to limit community spread of COVID-19.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Please donate today to Community Link at www.communitylinknc.org. In the form, indicate "COVID-19" on the line about a special purpose for your gift.

We also looking for an Angel donor to contribute $1,000 to help us buy groceries and cleaning supplies for four families for one month. The families are single moms with children who attend Title 1 elementary or middle schools. The children depend upon getting breakfast and lunch there. Now, they’re going hungry for most of the day. The moms have lost their jobs or have limited work hours due to COVID-19. Can you be the Angel donor for these families? Email intake@communitylink-nc.org.

Does your company produce or distribute soap, hand sanitizer, paper towels, laundry detergent, toilet paper or women's sanitary products? We're looking for quantities of these items for lower-income families. Needs are especially great for families living with children in week-to-week hotels or in rural areas.

Thank you from everyone with Community Link!
