What We Do

Lions Services has provided job training and career employment opportunities to people who are blind, low vision, and blind veterans in Charlotte for 88 years.

Mission: Empowering people who are blind to achieve personal and economic independence by providing them vocational rehabilitation and employment opportunities.

We currently employ 140 blind/low vision impaired employees through job training.

70% of people who are blind are unemployed. There are currently 16,000 people who are blind and vision impaired living in Mecklenburg County and a high percentage are unemployed because of their vision loss. Lions Services is working to change these statistics through our workforce development programs and job training. Through our job workforce development programs we help enhance the lives of the blind to become more independent, have a purpose, and support their families. The creation of Jobs reduces isolation and provides socialization that helps the emotional well being and reduces depression for many people who are blind and vision impaired in the Charlotte community.

To schedule a tour to see all the good work we do and meet our employees, please contact Agatha Bisbikis by phone 704-921-1527 or by email:  Agathab@lionsservices.org
