Trauma and abuse can seriously damage a child during their critical formative years. According to CDC data, 1 in 6 children have a mental health condition, and half go untreated. For children living below the poverty level, this increases to over 1 in 5, and access to treatment for these children is likely even lower. Thompson believes we can intervene early and interrupt cycles of trauma and abuse. Our work centers on trauma-focused prevention and intervention services for children and families.
Founded in 1886, today Thompson provides services from four core pillars: Early Childhood, Family Stability, Mental Health and Residential Services. We serve children (birth to 18) and their families with comprehensive services that empower them to achieve their goals.
Many of the children and families we serve are without many of life's basic essentials: bedding, towels, hygiene items and clothes. Please consider shopping our Amazon wish list to help us replenish our supply of these basic essentials for our clients.
