Six GOOD Holiday Shows to See This Season


Did you know that many of the arts organizations in Charlotte, like the Charlotte Ballet and Charlotte Symphony, are nonprofits? Seeing a show or performance in December is a festive way to celebrate the holidays while supporting a local nonprofit organization!

Here are six shows and performances you can feel GOOD about seeing during #GivingSeasonCLT: 

Davidson Community Players: Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol (Dec. 5 - 22) Watch Scrooge's heart opene up before your eyes in this funny and deeply moving story put on by our friends by the Davidson Community Players. The Davidson Community Players aim to encourage the community to participate in the dramatic arts.

Carolina Pro Musica: Christmas at St. Mary’s (Dec. 14) Step back in time with Carolina Pro Musica's Christmas at St. Mary's show featuring a reading of the story of Christmas with authentic 18th Century music and dress, and a Christmas carol sing along. Fun fact: this local organization promotes the performance of music written before 1800.

Charlotte Chorale: Christmas is Coming (Dec. 14) Watch the live choral performance of various Christmas classics songs including “Silent Night”, “Angels From The Realms of Glory”,  “Joy to the World”and many more!

Charlotte Symphony and Carolina Voices: Magic of Christmas and the Singing Christmas Tree  (Dec. 13 - 22). Se two of Charlotte's favorite holiday traditions join forces for a never-before-seen spectacular- your Charlotte Symphony's Magic of Christmas and Carolina Voices's The Singing Christmas Tree unite for a night of joyful, heartwarming, pure family fun.

Matthew’s Playhouse: It’s A Wonderful Life (Dec. 13 - 22) Watch this classic Christmas story performed by local theatre students at Matthews Playhouse! Matthew's Playhouse is a community based theatre committed to enriching the lives of children, adults, and families by inviting them to participate in the world of performing arts and education. 

Charlotte Ballet: Nutcracker (Dec. 6 -23) This seasonal ballet is one of the most performed shows in the world and one of Charlotte’s most popular holiday shows each year.
