GUTS: CELEBRATING 10 YEARS of CREATIVES CARVING OUT WISHES

If you have never heard of GUTS, allow me to give you yet another reason to love this time of the year. 

In the past ten years, this family friendly pumpkin carving event has grown from a small, internal team-building activity for the employees at CRAFTED, which took place in a parking lot just outside of Uptown Charlotte, to a much anticipated community wide, friendly competition attracting hundreds of people to BB&T Ballpark- all for an amazing cause. 

GUTS benefits the Central and Western North Carolina Chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation which has granted 4,000 wishes since its inception in 1985. In fact, in 2017 this local chapter granted the wishes of over 320 children; however, there are an additional 140 children within our community who are still waiting for their wishes to be granted.  

Last year’s GUTS event alone raised $48,000 and with that money granted eight wishes. With your help, that number can continue to rise. 

For kids with life-threatening medical conditions, a granted wish can make all the difference. This simple, but powerful belief inspired the founding of Make-A-Wish and drives everything that the organization does. Their mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. Beyond the local children, a wish experience can also have a powerful impact on their families, medical teams, and volunteers, as well as local supporters.

The primary goal of the GUTS event these days is to unify the creative community in support of the kids who fight the real fight every day at Make-A-Wish.
