Allstate Supports Local Nonprofit Community Through DO GOOD Week- Making Sure We Are All in GOOD Hands

SHARE Charlotte is incredibly grateful for official partner of DO GOOD Week: Home Edition, Allstate, and was overwhelmed by their unwavering support and ability to embrace all of the necessary changes that were made to this year’s local celebration of National Volunteer Week in response to the current pandemic.

When it comes to responding in the face of crisis, Allstate is no stranger. In fact, they’ve been protecting people for almost 90 years. And now, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they are working to keep their customers, employees, agencies and communities safe and healthy as we all change our routines to slow the spread of COVID-19. Recognizing that businesses must step up to help those in need, Allstate and The Allstate Foundation are committed to supporting our communities and nonprofit partners.

The Allstate Foundation is contributing $5 million in new funding to help local communities faced with the unprecedented need brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Of that new funding, $2 million dollars will be distributed in the communities where Allstate has the largest employee presence – greater Chicago as well as across Illinois; Dallas; Phoenix and here in Charlotte.

Allstate is helping communities via grassroots efforts, too. Agency owners across the country provided extra Disaster Preparedness kits that include N95 face masks. Agencies, alongside field and territory sales leaders, have reached out to local organizations in need to donate this much-needed Personal Protection Equipment for front-line workers.

As for their own employees, Allstate is supporting them through the current crisis in a number of ways. For on-site workers, they are ensuring medical-grade cleaning and other safety procedures and for others they are allowing for ease of remote work opportunities and encouraging social distancing. Additionally, Allstate is providing their employees with well being resources including virtual health solutions, online confidential employee assistance programs and mental and physical well being virtual resources.

April is Bring Out the Good month at Allstate, a time when the company traditionally celebrates their year-round commitment to giving back. While COVID-19 has prevented Allstate employees from gathering in groups to volunteer, Allstaters across the globe are still giving their time, resources and expertise to strengthen communities. To help Allstaters do even more for their communities, The Allstate Foundation increased its match on employee and agency force donations to 100%.

BONUS GOOD for Allstate Customers: As society works together to slow the spread of COVID-19, there are more people at home, driving less and having fewer accidents. Given this decline in driving, Allstate has announced a Shelter-in-Place Payback of more than $600 million in April and May for their auto insurance customers and is offering free identity protection to all U.S. residents through the end of the year, payment relief and extended coverage.

Talk about being in GOOD hands.

Thank you Allstate for all of the GOOD you do for our community year round, and especially during these unprecedented times.
