#AnimalsofCLT: So You Think You Can Bark?

Quick, what are you doing on February 1st?

Settling in for another night of Netflix?

Wrong!

You’re going to have to watch House of Cards another night because February 1st plays host to the first ever So You Think You Can Bark. An outrageously fun night of pup-inspired entertainment benefiting Charlotte’s own Stand For Animals.

Stand For Animals is an organization committed to providing affordable veterinary care to tens of thousands of pet owners across Charlotte and beyond. They offer everything from spay/neuter services to full-blown veterinary care for pet owners who may otherwise be unable to regularly visit the vet.

Executive Director Cary Bernstein founded Stand For Animals in 2011 after serving as Board Chair of the Charlotte Humane Society. She saw an enormous need to help ease Charlotte’s pet euthanasia problem, and founded Stand For Animals to help pet owners with limited financial resources give their pets the care they need.

In an effort to help even more pets in 2019, Stand For Animals organized So You Think You Can Bark. A one of a kind fundraising event where eight dogs teamed up with force-free trainers to learn a cool new trick, which each dog will put on full display at the event.

The goal is for each 4-legged contestant to raise at least $10,000, and some are well on their way. But they all need your help to hit the event’s overall fundraising goal of $80,000. Judges include former Panthers’ safety Roman Harper and news anchor Morgan Fogarty, who will join Molly Stone, a certified Animal Behavior Specialist to evaluate the technical expertise of each trick.

In times of near universal stress, it’s often our pets who remind us of the simple joys of life. Help others experience the wonders of pet ownership by joining Stand For Animals at So You Think You Can Bark this February.

As for January, though? Watch all the Netflix you want!
