Antia Dawkins Joins SHARE Charlotte as Marketing Director
SHARE Charlotte is pleased to announce that Antia Dawkins has joined our team as our new marketing director. In this role, Antia will be responsible for creating a broad awareness about SHARE Charlotte through the creation and execution of annual marketing plans for neighbors, nonprofits and partners. She will also be responsible for managing three annual community wide giving campaigns: Do Good Week, Shop for Good and #GivingTuesdayCLT.
With more than a decade of experience in public relations, marketing and event planning, Antia’s professional background makes her a perfect fit for SHARE Charlotte. Most recently, Antia worked at Johnson C. Smith University, as the assistant director of marketing and the program officer for the Office of Alumni Relations, where she was responsible for directing and optimizing department projects in marketing, alumni connections and fundraising. During her tenure, Antia led alumni fundraising campaigns, raising more than one million dollars three years consecutively.
The Spartanburg, S.C. native is thrilled to be a part of the SHARE Charlotte Team. She believes that this experience is a full circle moment. “My first internship experience was at Launch Something in Spartanburg, S.C. I was assigned a task to secure bicycles for a community project with the Boys and Girls Club of the Upstate,” she said. “I reached out to the local Wal-Mart and they donated bicycles and additional kid games for the event. This ignited my passion to work in an organization that not only believes in serving others, but making an impact in their local community and this is the mission of SHARE Charlotte,” she continued.
Antia is a two-time graduate of Claflin University, earning a bachelor of arts degree in mass communications in 2008 and master of business administration with a concentration in marketing in 2011. Antia lives in Charlotte, N.C. with her one year old daughter, Maliah Givens.
She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
