#BizGivesCLT 2021 Winners
The Charlotte Business Journal and SHARE Charlotte have partnered to create #BizGivesCLT, an annual opportunity to recognize local businesses who generously support Charlotte nonprofits in big, bold and creative ways in celebration of #GivingTuesdayCLT on November 30, 2021.
#GivingTuesdayCLT is Charlotte’s local response to GivingTuesday, a global generosity movement. Now in its eighth year, #GivingTuesdayCLT is an unprecedented collaboration of hundreds of Charlotte nonprofits as well as corporations, local businesses, community organizations and individuals coming together through good. #GivingTuesdayCLT has influenced more than $31M in gifts to Charlotte nonprofits and inspired over 29K new donors.

Business: Kia and the Kia Dealer Management Group

Nonprofit: Do Greater Charlotte

Summary:
Kia, Kia Dealership Management Group and Jim Keffer of Keffer Kia provided a $300K donation to Do Greater Charlotte who builds creative confidence in youth through training in design, entrepreneurship and interactive media in under resourced communities. Their Mobile CRTVLab and the new CRTV Lab at Shiloh Institutional Baptist Church provides modern digital technology, a unique creative co-learning space and a nurturing community to help youth turn their ideas into future opportunities. This donation will help support the completion of the innovative CRTVLab at Shiloh and the building of a creative digital curriculum for disconnected youth in West Charlotte.

Summary:
NTT employees pledged to serve 250 volunteer hours in 2022 for Apparo who provides pro bono IT and business process consulting for nonprofits. These employees will serve in a variety of ways that will include advocating for Apparo within their personal and professional circles through their strategic use of social media and serving on committees that drive funding for Apparo. Additionally they will provide critical business process and technology expertise for the nonprofits that Apparo serves.

Summary:
Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop in Huntersville wanted to find a way to give back to Charlotte Angels which is an organization that supports children, youth, and families in the foster care community through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship. They created a campaign that donated $1 from the sale of every Chocolate Chess pie they sold in the month of November and were able to provide a $1,000 donation.
