Changing Lives Together Foundation: #SpotlightOnCLT Autism Awareness
Today's highlight for #SpotlightOnCLT Autism Awareness is all about the Changing Lives Together Foundadtion. We spoke with Executive Director Mike Dascal about the impact this nonprofit is having on the Charlotte Community.
The CLT Foundation's mission is to enrich and change the lives of special needs kids and kids with life-altering medical circumstances. The experiences they help provide could be helping a local special needs kid attend college, being able to play on a recreation wheelchair basketball team or the surprise experience when Santa Claus visits you in the hospital. CLT is going to help make these moments happen by partnering with the community, hosting events, providing scholarships to collegebound kids and donating to charities whose missions align with theirs.
What would you like the community to know about the challenges your organization is trying to solve?
Our foundation was established about three years ago here in the Charlotte area and and we’re looking to partner with other organizations and companies to change lives here in the community!
What is your organization's role in the community?
We provide life-changing experiences, ranging from college scholarships to summer camps to much more, for local kids 21 and under who have life altering medical circumstances.
We love impact stories, could you share one?
“I just want to thank you, she came home with a new shot of adrenaline and it made her feel good. It always blesses my heart when she’s able to do things that she has been told she is unable to do.” - Ashlyn’s grandmother on her expedience at Camp CLT.
