Charlotte Showed Up for Local Nonprofits on #GivingTuesdayCLT
We are thrilled to highlight how our community came together to support local nonprofits and the impact of #GivingTuesdayCLT on November 30, 2021!
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that was created in 2012 as a simple idea - a day that encourages people to come together and do good - this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity each year.
#GivingTuesdayCLT, is powered by SHARE Charlotte, and is Charlotte’s local response to this global movement. Now in its eighth year, #GivingTuesdayCLT is an unprecedented collaboration of hundreds of Charlotte nonprofits as well as corporations, local businesses, community organizations and individuals coming together through good.

Hear about what your support meant to local nonprofits on 11/30::
“More than half of our donors were first-time donors and made up for over 80% of the donations we collected. 5 of our first-time donors identified themselves as breast cancer survivors and gave in tribute of either their diagnosis, or because of their connection to utilizing our programs/services during their cancer journey. We are over-the-moon on the impact we were able to make in 1 day! - Carolina Breast Friends
"We originally weren’t going to participate and decided that morning to join the excitement. We set a goal of $500 to purchase one chromebook cart and after it was all over, we ended up with over $12,000 in classroom supplies, Christmas gifts, and corporate sponsorships. These generous donations will allow us to keep doing the work we do as well as bring a one of a kind winter wonderland holiday celebration to over 150 students in our program. After all they’ve been through during this pandemic, they need this." - Raise a Child of the Carolinas
