#GivingTuesdayCLT 10th Anniversary Celebration
On Giving Tuesday, 11/28 while generosity was being celebrated by 300+ communities around the world, here in Charlotte we were rocking our own celebration at Community Matters Cafe!
This year marks the 10th anniversary of #GivingTuesdayCLT which is an unprecedented collaboration of hundreds of Charlotte nonprofits as well as corporations, local businesses, and individuals coming together through good. On this single Tuesday over the past 9 years, #GivingTuesdayCLT has influenced more than $40M in value given to Charlotte nonprofits.
This year was EPIC, here are some highlights:
- Over 250+ attendees
- Over 2 hours of Live interviews on Instagram hosted by Jason Harper from Queen City News with 60+ nonprofits interviewed back to back.
- Lowe’s announced $575K in grants to Roof Above, Habitat for Humanity, For the Struggle Charlotte Family Housing, Freedom Communities, Do Greater Charlotte, Charlotte Rescue Mission, Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte and Charlotte ToolBank.
- 300, $50 Lowe’s gift cards were given to nonprofits as a match for a $50 (or more) online donation through sharecharlotte.org.
- Additional corporate gift contribution announcements from AT&T, North Carolina who gave to Do Greater Charlotte and The Dottie Rose Foundation to fund digital literacy training and Humana who gave to the Frankie May Foundation to support their Memory Cafe.
