#GivingTuesdayCLT: Taking a Look Inside
Right off N Trade St in downtown Matthews, a thrift boutique sits offering the passing cars the illusion of your average clothing store. In reality, ZABS Place is anything but average. If you actually parked the car and walked inside, you'll see a distinctive selection of donated goods at great values. With items for sale ranging from basic household products to designer clothing, ZABS Place is already proving to be more than meets the eye. Now, look closer. That's it.
In additional well-known brands, ZABS Place also sells items such as hand-crafted jewelry and unique knick-knacks created by extraordinary people. Who, you ask? The answer is right in front of you. Take your eyes off the items and see the people.
The goal of ZABS Place is to make dreams come true for young adults with what they like to call "special talents." Everything at ZABS Place, including the employees you see in the store, the items for sale, even down to the racks and shelves the items are displayed on is an expression of our belief that everybody and everything has a purpose.
By shopping at ZABS Place, you are helping them prepare these specially-talented individuals to transition into rewarding careers and realize their dreams of leading purposeful lives. By shopping at ZABS Place, you can meet uniquely-gifted people like Andy. Andy is autistic and was told he would never be able to work. No surprise he has been a loyal and hardworking employee at ZABS since the beginning. Did you know he also has a side job at a restaurant?
Walk around. Talk to the people. Touch the items. Marvel at the amazing things happening inside this seemingly-ordinary building. Like you did with the building today, ZABS Place hopes you will see past external difference and recognize the strength and potential inside.
Aren't you glad you stopped in?
